woah

Start off with something and digress into things I can’t remember saving. I saw today that I’ve made more calls this month to car services than my mom. I’ve been listening to Danny Brown and watching Louie Theroux

later college

Well, it’s not like it has been an entire quarter (the last one of my collegiate career) since I’ve posted last or anything. I’m back in Rochester for the summer after a two week roadtrip throughout the midwest and south. You’ll see those images later. But for now, here’s some stuff from the spring time:

So, future stuff! Get a job, make a website, bedazzle everything, and get myself to NYC.

Past stuff! Graduation was weird, Draft8 was sweet, after I got my prints to stay on the wall for the senior show that was cool too, getting evicted was a blessing because now I have a way cheaper apartment with a trampoline, and the show I had (and is still up until the 16th of June) at the Owl House was fun from what I don’t remember.

The Man With The Big Black Coat

I’m very lucky to show you my first film (first finished, not first started) and in a way have this private screening for the S&W audience. This film is about

93% done and I’m always happy to hear opinions and not too heartbreaking criticism.
It’s hard to imagine this film outside of my school and I still cant decide what is stupid and what is funny about it.
People here like it, but im always scared how much of it is knowing the people acting in the movie and how much is genuine.

You be the judge, and I hope you like it.

56 days later.

I’ve accepted the fact that my updates are infrequent and so, 56 days later after my last post about Miami, these are things that have happened since then.

It is summer time, sort of, if it ever stops raining in New York. This month is officially one year at GQ, one year of traveling to Times Square everyday, and one year of working with some amazing people. It also marks one year that I’ve lived in New York after moving back. And in 31 days, I’m turning 24, and it’s weird to say out loud.

I’m not sure where to start, I’m not good at writing, let’s face it — I do pictures. Over the last month or so, I’ve shot a couple things, another feature for Brooklyn Magazine, Cassie for Nylon, a really tiny thing for GQ (but finally, I made it!) and am still carrying my beloved Contax everywhere I go.

Two weeks ago, the photo and art department attended the 46th Annual SPD Awards (my first!) and we won Magazine of The Year which catapulted the night into drunken celebration and lots of bumming of cigarettes. I saw a lot of past colleagues and even several RIT Alumni like Whitney Tressel, Photo Coordinator at Esquire, Justin Solitrin, Creative Director extraordinaire, Ryan Moore, designer at Time, and GQ’s own Jason Sfetko. It was really lovely to see people from college who I believe are really talented and deserve their success.

I’ve never attended an event like that and didn’t know what to expect besides understanding that Wired and The New York Times win a bunch of shit (well deserved though.) But winning the last award, Magazine of The Year was kind of like icing on the fucking cake. I think the night was blurry for everyone involved.

I’ll definitely remember that moment after my time is done at GQ.

Less blah blah, more, pikturs.
