Today was the last show of fashion week. I was really excited that PAPER asked me to shoot. I learned about the photography pit, a large mass of photographers with monopods. It was what I imagine being at a nascar race is like, the subject is fast and youre fighting the other photographers for the best shooting spot. I was competing with a bunch of techy bro dudes at a fashion show! I wasnt into it. I thought fuck this and sat on a box by myself.
I think you can probably see from the photographs that I felt a distance between me and everyone there. Most of the time I just didn’t have the balls to ask a celebrity to take their photo and honestly I didn’t really care to, but I thought I probably should. Instead, I took pictures of them having their picture taken.
The bottom right and the one above it are gorgeous, but I’m really into the two on the top row. I don’t think I could handle doing that shit either. I mean, I would do it if I were asked to, but anywhere with too many photographers trying to photograph the same thing sounds like a bad place to be.
