Faith in Metanarratives

So big post today, the weather is fantastic, my work is pilling up, all the more reason for me to sit inside on my computer and procrastinate. This is Sunday and Wednesday’s #300th post, very exciting! Soon you will actually be able to see past posts in an intelligibly way, that will be nice. Also we may even state a mission, say what this whole thing is about, craziness.

I have to write an artist statement for my writing class. Last week in the class we had to write about a landscape that describes our condition and in my vanity i chose my own image above. This picture was taken at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center a few miles from the center of the town. A converted interrogation room, this setup is the county’s program for the systematic cataloging of their minors. I don’t mean to pass too harsh a judgment on this room or this county’s program. Programs like this exists everywhere, but I photographed this because it exists here too. I am not a parent , but I do think systems like these are worth a second glance. KEEP them safe, money for camera’s and card printers, but States should compete for education money, I guess it is complicated.. Below I have included another image from the afternoon at the center. A patrol car equipped with the county’s most technologically advanced initiative. The magnetized black canisters are infrared cameras designed to image approaching license plates, and run them through a database of delinquent registrations. I think I can do with this so I am going to reshoot. New York State gave each county the system, and apparently the units work very well. Each outfit costs around $20,000. My last image is in the detective division’s conference room. This room functions as a meeting place for operations involving multiple law enforcement agencies, and as a sort-of think tank for big investigations.
