Make me happy

Published November 8, 2009

It’s been a while since I”ve posted any work.  For the past few weeks I’ve been thinking a lot about art, and why we make it. For me, it makes me happy. It’s as simple as that. I love making marks on surfaces. It makes my world go round. I’ve also been thinking about some of the reasons behind some of the marks I make and why I continue to make them. It starts when you stumble upon a way of working that feels right, and gives you the result you’re looking for. This is not enough for me anymore. I want to go beyond what’s comfortable, but with out loosing myself in the process. I do not want to make other people’s art, that’s not the point. To make my own art, I really have to hone into what i want and how i want to do it. I do not know if this makes sense to anyone else here, but i feel that I’m at a turning point right now. It’s exciting.

This is something i’m working on right now. it’s a new way of working. It’s oil on canvas and it’s an experiment.
