since my last post. I think maybe 2 to be exact. Just figured I’d reassure you that I haven’t left or quit or fallen off the face of the earth- I’m still here. Alive and well. I’ve been busy enjoying myself. Relaxing for the first time in I don’t know how long. I’m actually pretty happy.
Today was the beginning of my summer internship with FecalFace. I officially met the faces behind both the website and gallery- John and Jessica Trippe. They’re wonderful people and I am very much looking forward to working for them this summer. John wrote a blurb about me for the site, the clipping is shown below. Click on it to see it on the full site. Or maybe I just like viewing that way to reaffirm that it’s for real.
My first day consisted of a few of the general tasks and eventually hanging out with an enjoyable crowd. I’m happy to say it’s everything I would ask for in an internship. I picked up some vinyl from the print shop a mile and a half away, picked up some wine and a cooler with Jess, picked up some blisters (now covered in Bandaids and Neosporin), photographed at Fifty24 (an art gallery on Fillmore) a few blocks up the street, carried beer and ice back to the gallery with John for the opening, held the opening for an hour(ish) while the Trippe’s went to dinner, had some beers with Jamie Nelson (the artist whose work was displayed), met some SF people/artists, and rode BART home.
I’ll post pictures if I ever get my film developed this summer, but I doubt I will. For now, look for me/my work on FecalFace and on my ever-changing website.
