The reason I chose this photographer is because she goes against everything I tend to see in photography. Her pallet is dark and uncomfortable. I usually dislike photographs that use such harsh light, but only because im used to being told everything should be visible, every tone should be accounted for. I can sit with some of these images and just experience them. Sometimes I expect the person to move, thats the quality I get. I create the narrative she’s guiding me through. Her entire body of work is just a journey and her connection to the subject makes even the ethereal scenes seem authentic.
